If you own property and are getting ready to file your 2010 taxes, don’t forget about your Home Ownership Tax Deductions.

You will need your Parcel Identification Number (PIN) in the filing process. CheckIllinois can provide you with your Parcel Number for as little as $4.95. Get yours now.

A few items that are generally available for tax deduction include your real estate property taxes paid, (and any property taxes that you reimbursed the seller for), the mortgage interest on your primary or secondary residence paid throughout the past year, and points used to obtain a mortgage for the year in which they are paid.

There may be other tax deductions available to you. Please see a Certified Public Account for more information regarding 2010 tax deductions.
